I was asked to come and set up a little songwriting marquee during Painting Padiham, a festival where artists from all over come and paint the town onto canvasses. After beckoning over random members of the public and asking them short questions about their lives, I took their name and answer, committed it to paper and played it back to them instantly on my guitar. It wasn't long before I had a full song so I wrote a chorus, took it into the studio and recorded it. This is our song, we're the People Of Padiham.

Matt loves summer,

Bob likes putting his socks back on,
After the day so long.

It was really lovely weather but her arm got covered in ants,
She really hates ants..

The beautiful church,
Holly likes Summer,
Cos you can play on the beach and swim with the frogs,
But spiders - Maisy doesn’t like those,
Ian fears failing at a task,

And Michael makes love with his Peg to make him feel much lighter! (wit woo!!)
